In Christ Alone – In Christ – Psalm 47 & Galatians 3:23-29

I.  Intro.

II. – Lost and Alone

III.  29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Memory Point: God is doing a new thing in Christ which supersedes what has come before and redefines all that is happening now and in the future.

IV.  Being “In Christ” redefines our lives.

Goal: Let your relationships be redefined “in Christ.”

In Christ Alone – In Christ the Law is Fulfilled – Psalm 98 & Galatians 2:11-21

I.  Intro.

II.  Rules or the Spirit?

III.  20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Memory Point: We can neither be saved by following a set of rules nor should we respond by following a set of rules, rather we have been saved by Christ and are to live by the Spirit.

IV.  Christ lives in You!

V.  A community of the Spirit.

Goal: Live in Christ!

In Christ Alone – The Only True Gospel – Psalm 22:25-31 & Galatians 1:6-10

I.  Intro.

II.  How am I to be saved?

III.  For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. (1 Cor. 15:3-5)

Memory Point: Jesus’ death on the cross is absolutely sufficient to make us right with God!

IV.  There is nothing that you must do other than to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior to be right with God!

Goal: Live secure in Christ.

Called – Exodus 3:1-15 & Acts 9:1-9

I.  Intro.

II.  Trying to make sense of the past, while moving into the future.

III.  10 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”

Memory Point: In our baptism God calls us into ministry.

IV.  God has called you with an eye on both who you are and who you could become!

V.  Our call and our transformation is never for ourselves alone.  It is always for the sake of others.

Goal: Hear the call that God has placed on your life.

Prodigal Perspectives: Forgiveness – Proverbs 19:11 & Luke 15:11-32

I.  Intro.

II.  Sinners in the hands of a loving God.

III.  20 So he got up and went to his father.  “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

Memory Point: God chases after us longing to meet us in our place of brokenness.

IV.  Forgive as you have been forgiven

V.  This should be a place of forgiveness

Goal: Forgive as God has forgiven you.

I.  Intro.

II.  Righteous Indignation

III.  ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends.

Memory Point – The reason(s) behind our actions matter as much as the actions themselves.

IV.  What is your motive for doing good?

Goal: Love God for who He is!
